Irish Hotel Design Trends for 2025 and 2026
As Ireland’s hospitality sector evolves, 2025 hotel interior design trends emphasise experiential, sustainable spaces that tell authentic stories. Drawing from global insights adapted for the Irish market, here’s what we’re incorporating into our Irish hotel design projects:
- Biophilic Design: Integrating nature—like large windows at The Drumhierny Barn and greenery in Abbey Court Hotel lobby—to foster serene retreats, boosting guest wellness and interior aesthetics.
- Sustainability & Reclaimed Materials: Echoing Drumhierny Barn’s salvaged pine and bricks, reducing waste while celebrating Irish craftsmanship—key for Fáilte Ireland eco-certifications.
- Tactile Textures & Storytelling: Rich layers of brass, wood panelling, and muted palettes (as in Breaffy House) create emotional connections, reflecting local narratives over minimalism.
- Flexible, Multi-Use Spaces: Versatile dining like Diamond Coast’s booths for small/large groups, supporting family holidays and events.
- Layered Lighting & Ambience: Warm, accent lighting in lobbies and bars for immersive evenings, enhancing Ireland’s cosy hospitality vibe.
These trends position your hotel as a leader in Irish hotel interior design, attracting discerning guests seeking authenticity and comfort.
Hotel Design FAQs
What makes a good Hotel Dining Room Design?
Recently, we’ve undertaken projects for hotel dining room designs at Breaffy House Resort in Castlebar and The Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone and shown that good dinind room design required a mix of loose and fixed seating, that gives maximum flexability for large and small groups of people. It needs to offer a high level of comfort with quality furniture, mood lighting and the use of posts, screens, shelving to offer a feeling of privacy in what are usually quite large rooms.
Which areas of a hotel design and refurbishment should have priority?
Each project is different. We work with client’s to determine the weaknesses in their offering. Intec Design recently carried out a traditional bar design for The Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh as it was in keeping with the traditional stone wall exterior and architectural features. We’ve recently carried out bedroom designs for The Silverbirch Hotel in Omagh and hotel bedroom and hotel corridor designs for The Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny as these area’s require modernising every 6-10 years due to wear and tear and changing design trends.
How can biophilic design boost my hotel?
By integrating nature (e.g., Abbey Court Hotel’s Lobby), it increases guest relaxation and expenditure but also improves aesthetics for digital marketing; increasing bookings and occupancy rate.
How does Fáilte Ireland compliance affect Irish hotel design?
It ensures accessibility, sustainability, and cultural authenticity—our projects incorporate these for funding eligibility and higher ratings.
