Check out a list of Ireland’s Best Hotels

The Irish have long been famed for their hospitality, and the owners of the best hotels in Ireland are no exception. Ireland has plenty to offer its visitors, which means you can go walking and sightseeing during the day, and be sure of a good meal and comfortable bed in the evening. Let’s take a look at some of the country’s best places to stay – the prices quoted below are approximate and can vary seasonally.

Sheen Falls Lodge, County Kerry

Like many of the best hotels in Ireland, Sheen Falls Lodge is not the cheapest around, but neither is it the most expensive, with a double room, breakfast included, costing around €200 a night. The hotel is set in a stunning location in a huge woodland area with waterfalls, and the picturesque town of Kenmare is just a mile away. There are spa treatments for those guests who want to really relax, and the hotel restaurant has received two rosettes from the AA.

Ballynahinch Castle Hotel, Galway

If you are travelling to Galway in the west of Ireland, then Ballynahinch Castle Hotel is well worth thinking about. Over the years the eighteenth century castle has been altered and adapted into a comfortable space. The castle is surrounded by the mountains of Connemara and is a great place for a relaxing stay. If you go during the low season then you can book a large, comfortable room for around €150 a night, with breakfast included. The hotel is ideal if you want to get away from it all and have a taste of the outdoor life.

Harvey’s Point, County Donegal

If you love golfing, surfing or hiking, this four star hotel is for you. Rated the sixth best hotel in all of Europe, you can enjoy its comfortable rooms and beautiful setting for around €160 a night. There is free Wifi throughout the hotel, fishing in the grounds, and golf lessons for those who would like to improve their game.

The Croke Park Hotel Dublin

The Croke Park hotel is an excellent place to stay in the capital. Prices for a double room start at around €130 per night, and this includes a continental breakfast. The hotel boasts an executive lounge and a bistro restaurant and there is a hop-on, hop-off bus service between the hotel and Dublin’s city centre.

The Ambassador Hotel and Health Club County Cork

The Ambassador is a four star hotel located in Cork city centre. The price for a double room is around €105 a night, though breakfast is not included. If you are taking your car, there is free parking. Wifi is also free throughout the hotel. The Ambassador is in a recently renovated Victorian building. The hotel has what it calls a cookhouse and bar serving traditional meals; for the health conscious there is a spa, fitness centre, and gym.
